Both of these claimed to know 'realized beings' with eternal life, although they were framed in a Christ-like aura. The explanation was built around Karma, reincarnation and the ability to move in an out of the Astral, adopting forms of choice. They said that the resolution of Karmic issues was the only way this could be done, the release of attachments, the living of a holy life. Yogananda even cited a Roman Catholic Stigmatist/Saint of Germany. If the Nagual was alien to Castaneda, Hinduism is truly alien to me. What to make of these claims?

Hindu/Buddhism and several others: There are the so called master that never left us, that moved to a different state and help others from the eteric plane of this planet. They just have the subtile bodies now: atman and down to boddhi, howver they do not incarnate in flesh but keep this bodies. What Carlos Castaneda reffers to as tenants and also Wolf are beings that have a physical body yet their age is huge compared to a normal human's lifespan. There are more not just one one example that is found in asian culture is mahavatar Bababji, there is xoxonapo and another one i suspect xoxonapanxoco and who knows how many. I have read about the so called death defiers/tenants, i think they may be a few dozens all over the world. I think the title of this thread would be seeking the tennats group or something. As you know, I'm a Tenant, and it's somewhat interesting to hear of the thread's recounts of ventures in the second attention. . . I was in a local T-shop tonight, writing, smoking, and contemplating, in a semi-indoor patio with an Angel Trumpet tree still in bloom, and I thought of the great question: What did the Tenant take from Sebastion? Since I read The Fire Within 25 years ago, it has been an important question, the one to answer, to become a Tenant. I'll tell you the truth, as when you're honest, your recapitulation and your death are both over, purity being the only need for death. One can be purified without the death of the physical body, though of course, billions of people find the physical body so gross and sexually perverted that ridding themselves of it to attain purity seems to them a lot easier. . . So I'll tell you the truth, The Tenant took shit and turned it into gold, it was an alchemical operation, and what he took was extreme paranoia, the terror of oneself, to stop for even an instant, to realize what he is doing, because what this being is doing is felt as wrong, so this person runs faster and faster and faster fearing the moment of truth, that horrible tap on the shoulder. . .He took the non-stopness of very nervously agitated people and turned it into perpetual motion - eternal life. In Ayn Rand's novel Atlas Shrugged, John Galt made his motor run by converting 'static electricity'. Study non-stopness, first in yourself, then in others, and you might get there one day. 1 day, on 1 Day, on your birthday, in your next life. There's non-stopness without thinking, without consciousness, and there's non-stopness, endlessness, in full consciousness. What does that all have to do with a sexton of a church, who was not spoken of as a nervous jittery type at all? Maybe he believed in his religion's doctrines fervently without real knowledge, as many people's faith is in their religion. This faith could be lost fast talking to one who knows. P.S.S. For those who are new here, the Tenant from Castaneda's book used to post on this forum a few years ago. This post resembles his writing style but with Grand Spec using all these anon logon names and also being very clever it is hard to say. I could look up the IP but that would be cheating on my part.. I merely mentioned the echos of the past so the many new ones here have a basis to understand the concepts you present. I have evolved and learned to manage the balance between tonal and nagual. You and me seek the same things and we both having found what we seek yet we do not take it. You wrote me often enough in private emails alluding to your manifestations of spirit and where you claimed and presented evidence of private knowledge of a tenant. You called yourself Sebastian many years ago and I just remember that as your name. If it isn't and your not the tenant who was associated with Don Matus then I respectfully withdraw the comments. Still it is good to hear from you as we were very good friends once. Remember you even had your own forum here to contain your many writings? It's just starting up over at the Sustained Reaction web-site now. The 1st chapter is called "Prancing Vigorously." It's time to get on to the new, the New Age, and what will save the earth will be the fact that it will be possible to live here in our physical bodies without dying, therefore people will regard the whole earth in an entirely different way and take care of it for once, and do away with their attitudes that nothing matters because we're all going to die anyway.

I'm aware of the definition and as a result of this thread, I re-read it several times. The first reference appears to be in "The Fire from Within", and further amplified in "The Art of Dreaming". If I understand it correctly, the "tenant" is somehow related to the "death defiers", or perhaps is one of them in some sort of different category, dealing with Naguals and receiving power from them in exchange for gifts of extraordinary abilities. Of these definitions, to include the "foreign installation", all described in the later books, I've always been skeptical, because all they really do is provide a convenient excuse for untoward behaviors, not unlike Flip Wilson's "Geraldine" saying, "The Devil made me do it." That is, it seems quite convenient to blame things on a flyer rather than take full responsibility for one's thoughts, actions, and behaviors. As to our current claimant, it would seem to me the "tenant" could be considered to be on a par with a Nagual in terms of having become an adept, and as such would have no need of defensive behavior. Is that so?
