if i'm not incorrect, the purpose of reliving these events is not simply to have the experience again, but to obtain a third point of reference that
doesn't identify with the 'here or there' of the experience. this point of reference is one that is dynamic according to the past and future that
are present surrounding the moment. in doing this process one unveils the underlying energy of a situation, by recognizing this we are able to move further
into altered perceptions, or move the assemblage point, 2nd attention, etc.
One who is aware that both knowledge and ignorance should be pursued together, overcomes death through ignorance and obtains
immortality through knowledge.

i agree. in fact, don juan said somewhere that there is a secret option to the recapitulation, as there is a secret option to death, that only sorcerers take.
this is to enhance one's true mind. everybody should do it.

Since the Eagle only wants to feed of our awareness/experiences, we can avoid being eaten by means of extensive recapitulation and reaching the totality of ourselves. That, coupled with a life-time of impeccability, gives us the possibility of dodging the Eagle.

It gives a new 'life story' or different level of what was going on that can be used to gain power of of. Recap is used by me like this: Review what really happened and what I felt and then made it mean. Then dig out what decisions I made about myself, the other(s) and whatever more there was involved. (most of this is not observed consciously when it happens.. Well at least not until you have a certain level of power and awarness) Then its possible to release the bound energy - by decision and to form a different meaning to it. |
